I met Amber my first day as a freshman at UW-Eau Claire. She was my neighbor in my very first dorm and I couldn’t have asked for better (even if she was a country music fan). Amber remained my neighbor for a full year and half until I switched schools and she was even gracious enough to hold on to some of my things for me since I couldn’t fit everything in my car when I moved out!
Over the next few years, my roommate, Anna, and I only visited once until this past summer when we all re-united again for a girls weekend. We had never met Amber’s new boyfriend and of course we needed to hear all about him! We asked if there was an engagement coming, she said she thought it would be soon, and boy was she right! Just 2 months later she snapchatted me that, in fact, Nick had popped the question! So happy and honored that Amber thought of me for her engagement photos.
It had been a rainy week leading up to the photo day but somehow the sun found its way out of the clouds for the evening. Hafez said it best, “And still, after all this time, The sun never says to the Earth, ‘You owe Me.’ Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky.” Not only did the sun light up the whole sky but their love shown brightly through them.
You’re going to be a beautiful bride, Amber (and a handsome groom, Nick)! Thanks for letting me be a part of your marriage journey.
